With the warehousing and supply chain crisis not looking to slow down anytime soon, Brisbane-based Software Company BrainStorm has come up with an answer to assist, and it’s called WaBI an optimising warehouse management solution.
Warehousing is one of the fastest-growing industries according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. It boasted one of the largest net increases in all of the country, recording 16,530 new Transport, Postal, and Warehousing Businesses last year.
Owner and CEO of BrainStorm Software Ty Osborne recognised the increase and the need to support new Small to Medium (SME) as well as the bigger businesses.

BrainStorm seeks to save businesses with new software.

“I noticed a massive gap in the market, most Warehouse Management Systems were not made for SMEs, so we designed a product that would suit their needs, with it being faster, it integrates into systems they might already have, say an ERP or website, they can pick and choose what functionalities they need instead of overcomplicating things, and this keeps their costs down,” he said.
The Warehousing sector has come across many issues post the pandemic including the ability to attract and retain a qualified hourly workforce, according to Statista at least 59 per cent of warehouse and distribution companies in the USA were affected by this in the last year.
With BrainStorm having worked with many manufacturing and distribution companies since its inception in 2014, Osborne observed similar issues surfacing within the industry.
“All of these companies kept coming across the same pains, especially since the pandemic. One such pain is staffing issues, this is a massive problem for companies and affects the ability to get their product made and delivered.”
“The solution we’ve come up with will automate warehouses, cutting out the need for so many staff. We’ve thought about all of the benefits this can have for a company, it will in turn make them more efficient, saving them time and money.”
With the supply chain crisis and increasing online sales, more warehousing companies are looking to hold onto more stock. WaBI takes everything online and keeps track of all stock and inventory in an easy-to-use system. It allows for better warehousing logistics and gives the business the ability to know its stock levels at all times.
WaBI also has efficient picking and packing processes, assists with warehouse layout, and can scan all products, cutting out more manual processes, and eliminating the amount of time and staff needed.
BrainStorm Software specialises in custom development with all of their products run off their proprietary “The Brain”, this makes integration easy and seamless.
