AI Earbuds That Listen First

Perth, Aug 31: viaim has unveiled its latest AI earbuds, Rise, built around a charging case that does far more than just charge. Debuting at IFA 2026 and launching on Indiegogo the same week, Rise is positioned less as a traditional earbud and more as an always-on capture device for professionals drowning in meetings, calls and spoken ideas.
The standout feature is the case itself. A three-microphone smart case records independently of the earbuds, while viaim’s Vitana AI layer converts what it hears into drafts and tasks that can be routed into tools like Claude Code, Codex and Google Workspace. The case also has a “press-to-rise” mechanism — pressing it lifts the earbuds upward and out in one motion, doubling as both a quick-record trigger and a better-angled mic position during meetings or travel.
Rise’s Always-on Listening mode is arguably its most distinctive pitch: rather than recording continuously, it processes ambient conversation in roughly five-minute chunks, building structured memory of topics, decisions and open questions without retaining the underlying audio. Full recording only kicks in when the user explicitly starts one, and listening stops the moment the companion app is closed.

CEO Shawn Ma framed the reasoning behind the product simply: “Most AI tools still wait for you to type something into them. We built Rise around a simpler idea: the most valuable information in your day is already being spoken out loud. The question is whether anything happens to it afterward.”
On the audio side, Rise pairs an 11mm woofer with a 6mm tweeter, supports Hi-Res Audio Wireless with LDAC/LHDC codecs, and uses an 11-microphone array including a bone-conduction sensor for clearer calls and transcription in noisy environments. It also supports Apple MFi, Google Fast Pair, Apple Find My, and MagSafe charging.
Privacy is clearly a selling point here too — viaim says user data is never sold or used for advertising, raw audio isn’t retained in real-time mode, and the company holds ISO/IEC 27001 and 27701 certifications plus SOC 2 Type II attestation, alongside GDPR compliance measures and HIPAA-ready infrastructure for business users.
Rise launches on Indiegogo on August 31, 2026, with early-backer pricing to be announced at campaign launch. Estimated MSRP sits at $399.
