Hotel Spotlight: The Dylan Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Sept 10: The Dylan Amsterdam has unveiled a sweeping series of renovations and design-led upgrades, blending its 17th-century heritage with contemporary craftsmanship and sustainable innovation.
Located along the Keizersgracht in the city’s historic canal district, the boutique five-star hotel has completed a multi-phase transformation covering 21 of its 41 rooms and suites. Each update reflects a philosophy rooted in timeless design, quiet sophistication, and a seamless dialogue between old and new.
The Loft Suites, completed in 2023, set the tone with custom oakwood cabinetry, quartzite details, Vallone bathtubs, and curated furnishings. This design language continued into the Serendipity building’s full renovation in 2024, where Studio Linse and Format Furniture introduced ornamental moldings, warm textures, and bespoke vanities.
From luxury-category rooms upwards, all bathrooms now feature freestanding Vallone tubs.

Sustainability is a central theme of the hotel’s reinvention.
Already Green Globe Certified, The Dylan has introduced Fineo insulation glass, interior façade insulation, and heat recovery ventilation. A thermal energy storage system is also in progress, ensuring environmentally responsible heating and cooling while preserving the property’s historic architecture.
The hotel has also elevated its shared spaces.
A refreshed lounge debuted in early 2023, followed by até, an intimate six-seat chef’s table, in March that year.
By 2024, the property’s meeting and event venues—including the Ariana, Atrium, Regents, and Barbou rooms—were updated to align with its design vision, offering an elegant backdrop for weddings, private dining, and curated gatherings.

Guests can also dine at the 2* Michelin restaurant Vinkeles or relax in the inner garden sanctuary. Looking ahead, a new gym equipped with Technogym facilities is slated for spring 2026.
With more than half of its accommodations now transformed, The Dylan Amsterdam continues to refine its identity as a destination where history, craft, and sustainability converge.
The next chapter in its evolution promises a further deepening of its philosophy of “quiet luxury,” where every detail resonates with purpose.
