Tapway Expands to Thailand
Kuala Lumpur, Sept 8: Tapway Sdn. Bhd. has appointed Advantech Co., Ltd., Appomax Co., Ltd., and S I Media Co., Ltd. as official channel partners in Thailand. The move follows its recent expansion in Indonesia and strengthens its regional presence in Southeast Asia, where Tapway now operates in Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand.
The partnerships will see the Thai firms distribute Tapway’s SamurAI Vision AI licenses, provide technical expertise, and deliver support for industries such as retail, manufacturing, logistics, and smart cities. Launched in 2024, Tapway’s SamurAI platform is already deployed in over 2,000 locations across the region. The company aims to double this footprint within two years and install 500 camera licenses in Thailand within the next 12 months.
Kaspersky Backs Conservation
Kuala Lumpur, Sept 8: Kaspersky Malaysia partnered with Free Tree Society (FTS) for a skill-based conservation day at Taman Tugu. Led by Adrian Hia, Managing Director for Asia Pacific, 22 volunteers took part in a jungle walk on ecosystem conservation, followed by sessions on water scarcity, rainwater harvesting, composting, and water reduction.
Volunteers also joined nursery operations including soil mixing, propagation, transplanting, and plant care, each nurturing a Jering tree seedling to support urban reforestation. Taman Tugu, a 66-acre urban forest site, now houses more than 1,000 indigenous trees, with over 5,000 planted in recent years, including about 1,000 endangered species.
Gamuda, Taylor’s Redevelop SS15
Subang Jaya, Sept 8: Gamuda Land and Taylor’s Assets, the property arm of Taylor’s Education Group, are collaborating to redevelop a 2.88-acre freehold commercial site in SS15, Subang Jaya, with an estimated GDV of RM500 million.
The mixed-use project will feature two serviced apartment towers, a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) block, and a retail hub, addressing the shortage of quality student housing in the area. Scheduled for completion in November 2029, the development will add 401 PBSA bedrooms, enhance Subang Jaya’s liveability, and reinforce its position as an education hub.
Strategically located near major universities, lifestyle facilities, and the SS15 LRT station, the project will integrate sustainable and biophilic design features, retail spaces to promote walkability, and lifestyle amenities for residents. This initiative also marks a milestone in Gamuda Land’s urban regeneration portfolio while strengthening Taylor’s PBSA footprint locally and abroad.

Kuala Lumpur, Sept 12: Futuromic Photo AV has officially launched the Ricoh GR IV in Malaysia, marking the latest evolution of the cult-favourite compact street photography camera. Sydney, Sept 15: The second edition of Ombak Festival wrapped up at Desaru Coast, Johor, from 12–14 September 2025, delivering a weekend of world-class music, regional talent, arts, food and family-friendly activities.
