Singapore, Aug 14: Futuris Education Pte. Ltd. has announced that it now owns and will operate The Perse School Singapore (TPSS) under a license from The Perse School Cambridge International.
This move comes after a successful tender process supported by the Economic Development Board (EDB).
The relaunch of TPSS marks a significant development in Singapore’s international school landscape, bringing the prestigious British education system to a new generation of students.
The new leadership at TPSS is led by CEO Johan Stromsater and school principal Daniel Cross.
The school is set to relaunch on a new campus in January 2025, offering a future-focused Cambridge curriculum.
This curriculum is designed to equip students with essential skills in academics, critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership. Initially, the school will cater to students aged 3 to 11, with plans to extend to ages 12 to 18 by 2026.
The upcoming campus will be located at 58 Chestnut Drive, the former site of Chestnut Drive Secondary School.
Futuris secured the winning bid for this brownfield site, which is being transformed into a state-of-the-art learning environment.
The campus will feature modern classrooms, a multi-purpose sports field, and specialised facilities for arts, music, and drama.
The first phase of the renovations is expected to be completed in time for the school’s opening in January 2025.
Johan Stromsater, CEO of Futuris and now CEO of TPSS, expressed his excitement about bringing The Perse’s tradition of excellence to Singapore.
He emphasised that the school aims to provide top-tier British education at a fee level that makes it accessible to a wider community.

The curriculum at TPSS will offer a comprehensive education from early years to senior school, with a strong emphasis on STEM subjects and bilingual programs.
The Pelican Junior and Senior programs will follow the International Cambridge curriculum up to the iGCSE level, with Years 12 and 13 adopting the International Baccalaureate (IB).
Additionally, the curriculum will integrate modern skills such as robotics, coding, and entrepreneurship into the core timetable.
Daniel Cross, the founding principal of TPSS, will be relocating to Singapore from Cambridge, where he served The Perse School Cambridge for 24 years, most recently as Senior Deputy Head.
Cross remarked, “I am thrilled to bring the rich traditions and academic excellence of The Perse School to Singapore. We aim to provide a world-class education that blends academic rigour with a modern, future-focused skills curriculum.”
Joining the leadership team is Kephren Sherry, who will serve as the Head of Pelicans (Early Years) and Junior School.
Sherry brings 28 years of experience in education, including 12 years in the international school system.

TPSS is working closely with the Committee for Private Education (CPE) to confirm operational approval and to begin accepting applications.
The school can accommodate up to 1,400 students at full capacity, with initial enrollments focused on students aged 3 to 11.
Tuition fees will start at $22,750 per year, excluding GST, and the Senior School, catering to students aged 12 to 18, is set to open in 2026.
The collaboration between The Perse School Cambridge and TPSS ensures that the values and standards of the original institution are maintained in Singapore.
Ed Elliott, Head of The Perse School Cambridge, emphasised the importance of this collaboration, stating, “The close collaboration between our campuses will ensure the consistent delivery of The Perse’s high standards and values.”
Elliott highlighted the success of The Perse School Cambridge in university placements, noting that in a typical year, 40-50 students receive offers from Oxford or Cambridge Universities.
