Based on research and surveys that have been conducted, the average citizen is happy that SOSMA has been approved again.
This is because of the series of actions of a few individuals who are more and more daring to insult, mock and try to stir up racial enmity and hatred but there is no specific law that can punish them.
We must always be prepared and take lessons from the history of invasions that occurred in Sabah several years ago and be aware that threats to national sovereignty can occur at any time and must be prevented from repeating.
Starting with challenges to national authorities including the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), as well as the Federal Constitution involving the position of Islam, Malay-Bumiputera, Malay Monarchs and the National Language, up to those that are attempting to create hostility.
It should be remembered that the SOSMA Act is the right step to educate the public so that there is awareness and the importance of strict preventive laws to protect the country and the people, thereby restricting the movement of extremist groups, and militant groups and organized crime groups.
With the empowerment of the SOSMA act, it is hoped to motivate the authorities, especially the PDRM, to continue efforts to curb the criminal activities of individuals or groups that want to overthrow or weaken the country with new threats that cross borders.
