Kuala Lumpur, March 3: Southeast Asia’s largest car e-commerce platform Carsome Group (Carsome) has appointed Juliet Zhu as Group President, while retaining her current role as the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
In her additional role, Zhu welcomes new responsibilities of driving corporate development initiatives, including strategic partnerships and investment opportunities, developing new market strategies, and managing Carsome’s overall capital structure and synergy creation across Carsome’s businesses.
This is on top of financial reporting, planning and analysis, and investor relations under her CFO role.
Zhu is an experienced venture capitalist, equity analyst, and portfolio manager.
She has over a decade of experience in growth strategy and capital planning, having worked in the investment industry across China, India, and Southeast Asia.
As Carsome’s Group CFO, Zhu has strengthened the financial reporting function, established the investor relations and mergers and acquisitions functions, as well as secured funding across equity and debt for the growing needs of the company.
During her tenure, she led Carsome’s Series D, D2, and E fundraising rounds, on top of strategic acquisitions such as the recently completed iCar Asia transaction.
“I am honoured to be given the opportunity to serve Carsome Group with a broader scope and more responsibilities. It has been a truly humbling journey at Carsome, working alongside people who are so passionate about our mission and have such bias for action to relentlessly innovate, challenge and execute. We are very excited to take the company to its next stage of growth,” Zhu said.
Zhu’s appointment comes after Carsome’s recent launch of Southeast Asia’s largest car refurbishment facility, the Carsome Certified Lab in Malaysia.
It is also an important move that signals the continued strengthening of Carsome’s leadership team, with other recent senior appointments being Ravi Shankar Mallavarapu as Chief Marketing Officer, Andrew Mawikere as Country CEO of Indonesia, and Siwaphume Lertsansaran as Country Managing Director of Thailand.
