Our first YouTube live chat has finally gone live! The guest is none other than Malaysian-based solopreneur Nida Hamid, the founder of CareMealsbyNids.
A little bit of background on Nida:
Nida is an Australian graduate who completed her studies in Economics and Marketing at the Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia in 2001.
She started her career at Citibank’s mortgage department but soon discovered her passion and strength lay in her people skills. Nida then moved onto the business conference and event management industry and started her career as a conference producer. She was made responsible for managing the event and production section with four successful signature events designed for the logistics industry and health sector.
Nida took a break for two years and went overseas but returned to Malaysia at the height of the pandemic in 2020 and started exploring the healthy food industry. She later decided to take a leap of faith and create her own food brand called CareMealbyNids. Her brand is the ready-to-eat concept of overnight oats made fresh daily and curated especially for city folks based in the Klang Valley. With its signature tagline #caremealcares, Nida wants more and more people to be aware that healthy food can be fun and yum too!
Some of the talking points covered in this live chat were:
- Why overnight oats- did you see that there was a market for it in Malaysia?
- How do you manage the business as a solopreneur with a young family?
- Why start a business and not get a job instead?
