Korean Air Adds Non-Stop Melbourne Route

Perth, Aug 19: Melbourne travelers with a taste for Korean cinema and cuisine have a reason to celebrate: Korean Air is adding the city to its route map with a brand-new non-stop service connecting it directly to Seoul.
The airline will begin flying between Seoul Incheon and Melbourne three times a week starting December 18, 2026, with the seasonal schedule running through March 14, 2027.
The move comes as travel between South Korea and Australia continues to climb, and it slots neatly alongside Korean Air’s existing year-round flights to Sydney and Brisbane — giving the carrier a fuller footprint across Australia’s major cities just in time for the busy summer travel season down under.
Melbourne, a city of more than 5.3 million people, has long been recognised for its arts scene, dining culture, sporting events, and universities.
For Korean Air, it’s a natural addition: a hub that reflects the deepening ties between the two countries, whether that’s students heading to Melbourne’s campuses, businesses expanding across the Asia-Pacific corridor, or travelers chasing the city’s renowned food and coffee scene.
The new route will be flown on Korean Air’s Boeing 787-9, departing Seoul three times weekly — Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Flight KE409 leaves Incheon at 8:00 AM and touches down in Melbourne at 8:30 PM the same day. The return leg, KE410, departs Melbourne at 10:00 PM and arrives back in Seoul at 7:35 AM the following morning.
Bookings are open now through Korean Air’s website and mobile app.
