Perth, July 31: Adobe has launched a new product discovery capability for Adobe Commerce, designed to help retailers’ products get found and recommended by AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude and Gemini.
The shift comes as conversational AI increasingly becomes a starting point for shopping journeys. According to Adobe Digital Insights, traffic from AI sources to US retail sites grew 125 per cent between April and June 2026 compared to the same period last year — building on a 693 per cent year-over-year surge recorded over the 2025 holiday shopping season.
The new feature, called Adobe Catalog Agent, enriches product detail pages with structured data — including names, specifications, compatibility, pricing and availability — in a machine-readable format built for AI crawlers and LLM-powered discovery tools. The customer-facing storefront experience remains unchanged.
The tool also standardises product names, descriptions and use-case messaging directly within the Commerce catalog, so the same enriched information flows consistently across storefronts, advertising, marketplaces and AI discovery channels.
Adobe said the capability is a native feature of Adobe Commerce, available across all deployment models, meaning existing customers can adopt it without redesigning their catalog architecture or introducing separate third-party integrations.
The move reflects a broader industry push to prepare ecommerce platforms for so-called “agentic commerce,” where AI systems interpret shopper intent and recommend products directly, rather than relying solely on traditional keyword-based search.
