Perth, July 30: Nonprofit Hack Club brought together more than 30 high school students from across the Asia-Pacific region for its Horizons Crux hackathon, a 48-hour flagship event held July 10–12, 2026.
Logitech Australia supported the weekend, providing hands-on demo gear and prizes, including Logitech G’s Superstrike setup, a racing simulator, and personal workspace equipment.
Under the theme “The Crux of Storytelling,” students worked in teams to build 10 projects over the two days, with participants travelling from across Australia as well as New Zealand and the United States. Projects ranged from a voice-controlled game and a custom version-control system to a hologram depicting the story of the ANZACs.
Ontik Reza, Head of Partnerships at Horizons Crux, said the event succeeded in bringing attendees together for two days of collaboration, and noted that roughly a quarter of participants had travelled internationally to attend in person, calling their involvement “crucial to making the event such a hit.”
Logitech pointed to its broader track record of backing STEM programs, having previously sponsored UNIHACK 2025, which drew 750 students working on 135 projects over 48 hours.
Samantha Gibson, Logitech ANZ Senior Marketing Manager, said supporting grassroots events like this aligns with the company’s investment in young talent, describing it as central to the future of the industry.
Reza added that the hackathon gave student creators room to challenge themselves and build connections with others who share their interests, and thanked Logitech for product support that helped make the weekend memorable for attendees.
