Perth, July 29: D-Link A/NZ has launched the DPN-BE7212GR BE7200 10G Wi-Fi 7 Mesh Router, designed to eliminate the router as the bottleneck for NBN 2 Gbps and NZ UFB Hyperfibre connections.
The device pairs a 10 Gigabit WAN port with a dedicated 10 Gigabit LAN port, plus four Gigabit LAN ports and USB 3.0, running on a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 512MB DDR4 and nine 3 dBi antennas.
Units can be paired via EasyMesh for whole-home Wi-Fi 7 coverage, with an optional wired 10G backhaul letting devices like NAS drives and gaming PCs communicate at full 10 Gigabit speeds between rooms. Wireless-only backhaul is also supported for simpler setups.
On the wireless side, Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) delivers combined dual-band speeds up to BE7200 class — 1376 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 5764 Mbps on 5 GHz — with 4×4 MU-MIMO, OFDMA, 4K QAM and Multi-Link Operation for smoother streaming and gaming across bands.
Security features include WPA3 encryption, guest networking, parental scheduling controls and Smart VPN, which lets devices reach remote VPN servers without individual client software. The router also supports TR-069/TR-181 for telco zero-touch provisioning.
D-Link A/NZ MD Graeme Reardon said, “For years, the broadband connection was the bottleneck in most homes. With NBN now scaling to 2 Gbps and NZ homes already past that on Hyperfibre, the bottleneck has moved to the router on the shelf.
