Perth, June 1: After attending a Lush event at Carousel, Westfield Perth on 20 May, I had the chance to try four products from the brand’s latest range — and came away genuinely impressed enough that PR manager Hope V offered to send them home with me for a proper review. Here is what I thought.
Banoffee Pie Body Spray

The standout of the range: a bold, dessert-inspired body spray made with sustainably sourced ingredients from the Amazon.
The star of the range and the first thing I reached for. One spritz and you are enveloped in ripe banana, warm vanilla and a caramel-like tonka finish — it is unashamedly gourmand and makes no apologies for it. A word of warning though: this is not subtle.
You will smell like a dessert trolley, which is either exactly what you want or very much not. Made with organic ethanol from sugar cane and sustainably sourced tonka beans harvested by indigenous communities in the Amazon, it is as conscientious as it is indulgent.
Sticky Date Shower Gel

Lush’s bestselling shower gel returns with its signature vanilla, sandalwood and carob scent — originally launched for Eid 2022.
Originally launched as part of Lush’s Eid collection in 2022, this became a permanent fixture because customers simply would not let it go — and it is easy to see why. The scent in the shower is gorgeous: vanilla, sandalwood and a rich carob note that genuinely smells like baked goods. The honest caveat is that the fragrance does not linger long once you step out, though people nearby may still catch it on you. If you are after an all-day scent, layer it with the body spray.
Turmeric and Argan Cleanser

A waterless facial cleanser using fresh turmeric and argan oil, designed for mature and dry skin.
This one caught my eye at the event when another content creator picked it up — turmeric being such a staple in Indian and Asian cooking, seeing it in a skincare product felt both familiar and unexpected. Unlike most cleansers, this one skips water entirely — you apply it with a cotton pad to remove makeup and cleanse the skin. Designed for mature or dry skin, it leaves the face feeling soft without any tightness. The scent — vanilla, sandalwood and cedarwood — makes the whole experience feel luxurious.
Minamisoma Shower Oil

A citrus-scented shower oil that cleanses and moisturises in one step — and it’s back in stock after selling out.
I had never come across a shower oil before this, and the concept is exactly what it sounds like: an oily soap that cleanses and moisturises simultaneously. You stroke it over your body and rinse — skin comes out genuinely soft without any greasy residue. The scent is fresh and citrusy, with lemon juice and bergamot lifted by a sweet kinako powder finish. It sold out quickly after launch but appears to have been restocked. If you spot it, grab it.
