MassRobotics Australia Tour

Perth, Feb 24: From Boston to Brisbane and beyond, MassRobotics has concluded a five-day Australian tour designed to strengthen ties between the local innovation ecosystem and one of the world’s most active robotics hubs.
MassRobotics Co-Founder Joyce Sidopoulos and Director of Growth Marita McGinn led the visit, anchored by the launch of Propel-AIR 2.0, Australia’s robotics and AI accelerator program.
The tour connected founders, researchers and industry stakeholders across Brisbane and Sydney, focusing on commercialisation, investment pathways and global market access.
The week opened at ARM Hub’s Holland Street facility, where Sidopoulos and McGinn participated in a visit, discussion and tour alongside Queensland Assistant Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Amanda Stoker MP.
The MassRobotics delegation hosted an interactive session highlighting commercialisation strategies and opportunities for Australian startups to scale internationally.
Momentum continued during ARM Hub’s Open Day and the official Propel-AIR 2.0 launch. The event featured a robotics showcase from ADR, The Fish Girl, ProTX, Stratoship, Verbotics and the QUT Banana Project. Professor Roy Green opened proceedings, followed by roundtables bringing together representatives from state and federal government, industry experts and leading academics.
“It was great to have the right people in the right place to have the conversations that turn into real opportunities for Australian robotics companies,” said ARM Hub CEO and Founder Professor Cori Stewart.
Coverage of the showcase extended beyond the venue, with SmartCompany’s Tegan Jones reporting on the demonstrations in her Neural Notes column.
The Sydney leg of the tour included insights sessions at UNSW, the University of Sydney, UTS and Western Sydney University.
Discussions centred on emerging global trends in robotics and embodied AI, investment priorities and strategies for accelerating market entry.
MassRobotics also joined a fireside conversation hosted by Jacqui Hunter at Stone & Chalk, engaging members of Sydney’s innovation community.
Sidopoulos and McGinn described the session as one of the most interesting conversations of the trip.
The visit concluded with a roundtable with Amazon, chaired by the Committee for Sydney, where industry leaders examined Australia’s evolving robotics landscape. Sidopoulos characterised the meeting as one of the most valuable sessions of the week.
