Gym Feature: Flow Athletic

Sydney, Dec 8: In the heart of Paddington stands Flow Athletic, a boutique gym unlike any franchise. It’s a place where marathoners don’t just train—they belong.
As Ferris Hindi, the club’s marketing manager, describes, “There’s a huge sense of community there, because everyone in Paddington basically goes to Flow Athletic because it’s been there for so long.”
Flow Athletic specialises in making each member’s journey truly personal.

“If you are training for a marathon, lots of us, lots of our clients, are training for the London Marathon, the Gold Coast marathon, Sydney marathon next year,” Ferris notes.
The gym is home to skilled coaches like Wayne Chemise and Ben Lucas—“unbelievable run coaches”—who provide expert guidance and training.

The writer joined one of Flow Athletic’s fun runs at Centennial Park yesterday and was struck by how caring and supportive the whole club felt. Here, club manager Wayne can be seen giving a briefing just before the run.

“We also have Sally, who comes to the community runs on Saturday, who can always give you guidance and train you for these events like marathons.”
Marathoners have the support of a dedicated Run Club, with sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at Centennial Park, plus inclusive Saturday fun runs at the gym itself.
As Ferris says, “We do run club every Tuesday and Thursday, and then we do a community run club every Saturday morning as well. So anyone can come join.”

The philosophy at Flow Athletic is holistic, blending strength training, yoga, and running to optimize wellness and avoid injuries.
Ferris explains, “The idea is, you do some strength training and then you can go into a yoga class right after, or you can do some running and then go into a Pilates class right after.
So you’re never getting injured, you’re never getting worn out. You’re never burning out.”
