Videocraft Builds Uni Studios

Sydney, Dec 6: Videocraft Pro has designed and installed a new integrated media production precinct for the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Arts, after winning a competitive tender for state-of-the-art media studios on campus. The facility, located on the ground floor of the Babel Building, now includes five multimedia podcast suites, a small TV studio and control room, a main audio space and control room, a large TV studio and control room and a machine server room, all fully networked for live crosses, remote production and live streaming.
“The new integrated media production studios were proposed and constructed to address the growing demand and need for practical, applied learning across the Faculty of Arts… I’m delighted to say Videocraft Pro delivered all of this and more,” said media production studio facility manager Dr. David Beesley.
Videocraft Pro, the professional project division of Videocraft, specified and integrated equipment including Blackmagic vision switchers, routers and cameras, Riedel comms, Yamaha QL1 and QL5 audio desks, a Dante audio network, Rodecaster Pro II podcast suites, EditShare storage, V-Mix and SRT for external connectivity, along with an interactive screen.
Videocraft sales director James Taylor said, “The University of Melbourne initially asked us to consult on the project, so we could help them create a studio facility for students where they could learn how to work in a real live TV environment as part of a team… It was an incredibly rewarding project as we knew we were helping educate the television and broadcast professionals of the future.”
Since the soft launch, demand for the facilities has exceeded expectations, with students using the studios for podcasts, news broadcasts, media training, live crosses, audio storytelling and live events across multiple schools in the Faculty of Arts.
When asked how the solution was performing, Dr Beesley said, “Brilliantly! Since the soft launch earlier this year usage to date has already exceeded expectations… In short, they pushed the equipment to deliver solutions we didn’t know were possible – and that’s what we call Videocraft’s secret sauce.”

Beatbot Hits Australia

Sydney, Dec 6: AI pool robot brand Beatbot has launched locally in Australia, bringing its AquaSense range — including the new five-in-one AI-powered AquaSense 2 Ultra — to local pool owners just in time for summer.
The second-generation robot can climb walls, clean waterlines, skim the surface, map pools and dock on the water, using 27 sensors, an AI camera and a quad-core processor to hunt down debris rather than randomly vacuum.
Beatbot Australia Managing Director Rob Bell said he was excited to bring Beatbot’s next-generation smart pool care within reach of Australian pool owners to provide them with the most advanced pool cleaning experience available in the world.
“Beatbot is so much more than just a pool cleaner, it’s a cordless, smart, efficient AI robot that is engineered for effortless performance. It is going to blow the minds of pool owners who are sick of spending too much time maintaining their pool and not enough time enjoying it,” Rob said.
“At the cutting edge of AI robotics, Beatbot blows its predecessors and competitors out of the water with its intelligent design, AI-powered cleaning, and premium performance. Beatbot redefines what pool owners can expect from robotic cleaning in their pool. It’s a case of set and forget and never again dive into a dirty, leaf-littered pool.”
Beatbot, founded by pool owner and robotics veteran Wang Shengle, claims more than 60 per cent of its workforce is in R&D and says its AquaSense models sold over 50,000 units in the US in their first year.
The Beatbot range is now available in Australia via www.beatbot.com.au and selected retail outlets.
