Powertechnic IPO Deal

Powertechnic Group Berhad has signed an underwriting agreement with TA Securities Holdings Berhad ahead of its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
The IPO will comprise a public issue of 63.00 million new shares, representing 20.30 per cent of the company’s enlarged issued share capital of 310.34 million shares, along with an offer for sale of 21.00 million existing shares or 6.77 per cent.
Shares will be allocated to the Malaysian public, eligible parties, selected investors, and Bumiputera investors approved by MITI. TA Securities will underwrite 15.60 million shares allocated to the Malaysian public, while the remainder will be placed with approved investors, selected investors, and eligible parties.
Proceeds from the IPO will be channelled into automation of fabrication processes, establishing new product showrooms and sales offices with storage in Penang and Sarawak, and strengthening Powertechnic’s brand presence in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.
TA Securities acts as Principal Adviser, Sponsor, Underwriter, and Placement Agent for the IPO.

iPhone Launch Scams

Apple’s latest iPhone 17 launch has triggered a surge in global scam campaigns, according to Kaspersky. Fraudsters are exploiting the hype with fake websites mimicking Apple’s store, bogus lotteries offering free devices, and deceptive “tester” recruitment schemes.
These scams aim to harvest personal and financial data, often tricking users into sharing sensitive information or paying fraudulent fees. Kaspersky warns that cybercriminals are refining their tactics, making fraudulent sites appear increasingly authentic.
The cybersecurity firm advises consumers to stick to official purchase channels, verify URLs, ignore unsolicited offers, avoid sharing personal data for freebies, and enable multi-factor authentication to stay protected.

Camaroe IPO Oversubscribed

Camaroe Berhad’s public portion of its Initial Public Offering (IPO) was oversubscribed by 15.26 times, signalling robust investor confidence in the aquaculture group’s black tiger prawn farming and export strategy.
The IPO involves 99.00 million new shares and 49.50 million offer-for-sale shares. Camaroe received 3,487 applications for 402.40 million shares from the Malaysian public, with the Bumiputera portion oversubscribed by 6.83 times and the other public portion by 23.69 times.
All 61.87 million shares allocated to MITI-approved Bumiputera investors and 12.38 million shares under Pink Form Allocations were fully taken up. The 49.50 million offer-for-sale shares to selected investors were also fully placed out.
Allotment notices will be issued by 26 September 2025, with Camaroe set to debut on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia on 2 October 2025.

Malaysia Launches Digital Upskilling

Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) and Ericsson have launched the “DNB-Ericsson Educate 21st Century Technologies program” to train 40,000 Malaysian municipal and government employees in 5G, AI, IoT, and automation.
The free, mobile-friendly online course features interactive modules and a Connected City simulation where learners tackle real-world urban connectivity challenges.
The initiative supports Malaysia’s ambition to become an AI-driven nation by 2030, while advancing smart city and digital transformation goals.
The first phase will focus on city and municipal councils, equipping public servants to deliver digital-first strategies.

Advancecon Secures IBTEC

Advancecon Holdings Berhad, through its subsidiary Advancecon Infra Sdn. Bhd., has secured a RM66.9 million contract from JLG Technopark Sdn. Bhd. for earthworks and ancillary works at the Southern Ibrahim Technopolis (IBTEC) in Kulai, Johor. Spanning 7,290 acres, IBTEC is a flagship township within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), aimed at driving cross-border investment, digital infrastructure, and sustainable urbanisation. The project marks Advancecon’s strengthened presence in Johor and its role in one of Malaysia’s most ambitious township developments.

Alibaba Unveils Qwen3

Alibaba has introduced Qwen3-Next, a new ultra-efficient model architecture designed for long-context understanding, large parameter scaling, and reduced computational cost. Its first model, Qwen3-Next-80B-A3B-Base, activates only 3 billion of its 80 billion parameters during inference, surpassing Qwen3-32B while cutting training costs by over 90% and delivering more than 10x higher throughput on long contexts.
In addition, Alibaba launched Qwen3-ASR-Flash, a multilingual speech recognition model supporting 11 major languages and multiple Chinese dialects, now available via APIs and open-source platforms. The company also previewed Qwen3-Max, a trillion-parameter non-thinking model ranked No.6 on Text Arena, with enhanced reliability in reasoning, translation, and complex instruction following across over 100 languages.
