PuK Thumbstick Review

By June Ramli

Sydney, July 18: Let’s be real — touch controls on mobile games are a hit or miss. And for me, they’re mostly a miss. So when the PuK Thumbstick landed on my desk, I was curious to see whether it could actually fix the clunky controls that make mobile gaming feel more like a chore than a challenge.
Full disclaimer — I received the PuK Thumbstick for free, shipped directly to my apartment all the way from the UK. That’s a rare treat for me, as I usually don’t get much PR sent over from that part of the world due to the distance.
The packaging is compact and clean — nothing unnecessary. Inside, you get the thumbstick itself, a thumb sleeve (for your right hand), and a clever magnetic anchor system to keep the whole thing stable. There’s also a sticky disk for textured cases — a thoughtful touch.
Setup took less than five minutes. I stuck the anchor magnet to the back of my phone case, snapped the thumbstick into place, and did the quick calibration trick (lock and unlock the phone). Done.

Tested out the PuK Thumbstick and it seriously levels up mobile gaming. No lag, no fuss — just smooth, tactile control.

I tested it out on COD Mobile, PUBG Mobile, and Brawl Stars. The improvement was immediate. With the thumbstick, I actually felt in control — not sliding around aimlessly trying to nail my aim or move my character with precision. There’s this nice magnetic centering that makes it feel like a real joystick. It’s subtle but game-changing.
What surprised me most is that it doesn’t feel like an add-on. There’s no lag, no battery, and no Bluetooth nonsense. It’s just responsive, tactile input that actually helps you focus on the game instead of fighting with your phone screen.
The PuK Thumbstick is minimal and doesn’t interfere with your screen or grip. If you game a lot and get hand fatigue using claw grip, this is worth considering. The brand clearly knows its audience — this isn’t a console knock-off repurposed for mobile. It’s designed from the ground up for touch gaming.
PuK is on to something here. The thumbstick is a solid piece of kit for casual players and competitive mobile gamers alike. It makes gaming on your phone feel less like a compromise and more like a choice.
Highly recommended for anyone who plays FPS, MOBAs, or even party games like Fall Guys on mobile.
