MINISO Launches Doncaster Store

Melbourne, June 1: Global lifestyle retailer MINISO has officially opened its newest Australian store at Westfield Doncaster, marking the occasion with the local launch of its much-anticipated Disney Stitch collection. The store opened on May 24 and drew in crowds with themed décor, in-store giveaways, and Stitch cosplay appearances.
The Westfield Doncaster opening reinforces MINISO’s growing footprint in Australia, adding to its line-up of high-traffic locations such as Sydney’s George Street, Melbourne Central, and Westfield Sydney. Located on the ground floor of the centre, the new store spans approximately 4,000 square feet and showcases more than 3,000 products across lifestyle categories. Over 60 per cent of the range features popular IP collaborations, including franchises like Disney, Sanrio, BT21, Loopy, Harry Potter, One Piece, and Barbie.
The store launch was attended by local personalities including TV presenter Brodie Harper, AFL premiership player Luke Breust, and Hawthorn Football Club’s Chief Commercial Officer Jo Gilbert—highlighting MINISO’s deeper engagement with Australian culture and community.
Coinciding with the store launch, MINISO also unveiled its new Disney Stitch collection, featuring around 200 products, from blind boxes and vinyl plush toys to themed accessories. Dubbed the brand’s “fluffiest collection yet,” the release is part of MINISO’s ongoing focus on design-led, collectible merchandise. Events at both the Doncaster and George Street stores marked the collection’s Australian debut, with further rollouts planned for stores nationwide in the coming weeks.
As part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in Australia, MINISO will continue expanding its IP offerings and in-store experiences. Under its brand philosophy “Life is for Fun,” the retailer aims to bring playful and thoughtfully designed products to everyday consumers.
