Tex Cycle Gains Momentum

Kuala Lumpur, May 14: Tex Cycle Technology (M) Berhad reported RM8.9 million in revenue and RM2.6 million in Profit Before Tax (PBT) for Q1 FY2025. Revenue rose 11.2 per cent from RM8.0 million in Q1 FY2024, while PBT declined 65.6 per cent from RM7.4 million due to a one-off gain last year.
Quarter-on-quarter, revenue dipped 4.5 per cent from RM9.3 million in Q4 FY2024, with PBT falling 43.1 per cent from RM4.5 million due to lower fair value gains and softer demand in recycling.
At its 21st AGM and EGM, all resolutions passed, including shareholder approval for the RM55 million acquisition of Meridian World Sdn. Bhd. The deal adds wastewater treatment, chemical processing, and environmental consultancy services to Tex Cycle’s portfolio.
Meridian World operates licensed waste recovery facilities in Kedah and serves industries such as semiconductors, chemicals, and manufacturing.
As of 5:00 P.M. on 14 May 2025, Tex Cycle’s share price closed at RM1.04, with a market capitalisation of RM292.4 million.

KUCHING, May 15: The Sarawak Tourism Federation (STF), in collaboration with the Betong Resident Office and supported by key state ministries, will host the Gawai Dayak Open House 2025 on 7 June at Rumah Veriland, Engkeranji, Layar, Betong.
Running from 5:00 PM to midnight, the event celebrates cultural unity and rural tourism with traditional music, dance, storytelling, workshops, local food, and a handicraft bazaar. Highlights include the Gawai-Kaamatan Concert and new glamping options.
The event is free and open to the public. Tour packages ranging from 3D2N to 6D5N are also available for those wishing to explore more of Betong and its cultural offerings.

B.Duck Park Opens

KUALA LUMPUR, May 15: Southeast Asia’s first-ever B.Duck-themed park, B.Duck City Funs, has officially opened at Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s PIAZZA, running from now until 2 November 2025.
Organised by One Universe, the limited-time attraction features rides, photo zones, game booths, themed merchandise, and food stalls. Highlights include the Bathroom Battle ride, Treasure Pirate Ship, and Windmill Trampoline.
Visitors can also enjoy themed zones like Romantic Paris, light arch installations, meet-and-greets with B.Duck, and a duck-figurine hunt throughout the mall.
Tickets start from RM15 per ride, with family packages from RM150. The park is open Friday–Sunday (11:00am–10:00pm) and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (2:00pm–10:00pm); closed on Tuesdays except public holidays.

Aneka Jaringan Wins RM50m

Kuala Lumpur, May 15: Aneka Jaringan Holdings Berhad has secured a RM50.54 million contract for earthworks, piling, and sub-structure works for a mixed-use development on Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur.
The project, awarded by Clement Chan Architects on behalf of Kuala Lumpur Metro Property Sdn. Bhd., includes a 62-storey serviced apartment and hotel tower atop a 10-storey commercial podium.
Construction begins on 2 June 2025 and is slated for completion by 1 December 2026. This latest award brings Aneka Jaringan’s total wins to RM150.06 million for the year to date.

SCIB Showcases Bridge Innovations
