Kuala Lumpur, April 21: Taobao Malaysia will launch a Bahasa Malaysia interface in June to better cater to local shoppers. The move follows the app’s growing global popularity, becoming the second-most downloaded in countries like the US and UK, and topping charts in France. In Malaysia, it recently hit second place on the iOS shopping app chart. The platform already supports English and Chinese, with MYR pricing, bilingual support, and local payment options.
FedEx Launches Direct Route

Kuala Lumpur, April 21: FedEx has introduced its first direct flight from Singapore to Anchorage, becoming the only logistics provider with a non-stop link from Singapore to the U.S. mainland. Operating six times a week with a Boeing 777 freighter, the route will boost trade efficiency for key industries like healthcare, semiconductors, and high-tech sectors across Southeast Asia. Shipments from Malaysia will be consolidated in Kuala Lumpur and Penang before flying to the U.S., with improved delivery times and expanded return flights planned.

Kuala Lumpur, April 22: Censof Holdings Berhad has launched insureKU, Malaysia’s first fully digital insurance and takaful aggregation platform. Developed by Censof Maal Sdn Bhd, the platform enables users to compare, understand, and purchase insurance in under three minutes. Initially offering travel insurance from providers like Generali, TokioMarine, and Tune Protect, insureKU plans to expand its offerings later this year. As an authorised participant in Bank Negara Malaysia’s Fintech Sandbox, insureKU aims to simplify and democratise access to insurance for all Malaysians.
MN Holdings Wins Contracts
Kuala Lumpur, April 25: MN Holdings Berhad has secured RM29.7 million in contracts from Fabulous Sunview Sdn. Bhd. to undertake interconnection works for two 29.99MWac solar power plant projects in Sungai Petani, Kedah. The contracts, awarded to its subsidiary MN Power Transmission Sdn. Bhd., involve infrastructure development at PMU Aman Jaya and are set for completion within 10 months from the Notice to Proceed. MN Holdings also secured a separate RM5.2 million contract under the Corporate Green Power Programme for a 14.99MWac project in Kuala Ketil.
SCIB Clarifies Legal Claim
Kuching, April 23: Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (SCIB) has clarified that the discontinuation of a legal suit against Awana JV Suria Saga Sdn. Bhd. does not mean it is abandoning efforts to recover RM19.72 million. The claim by SCIB Properties Sdn. Bhd., a SCIB subsidiary, has instead been consolidated into a broader legal action filed on 18 April 2025. The move aims to streamline litigation and pursue recovery more efficiently.
Aneka Jaringan Posts Growth
Kuala Lumpur, April 22: Aneka Jaringan Holdings Berhad reported a 103.6 per cent year-on-year jump in profit after tax (PAT) to RM1.12 million for Q2 FYE2025, driven by strong project execution in Malaysia and Indonesia. Revenue rose 23.5% to RM66.96 million, with gross profit up 30.4 per cent to RM6.15 million. For the first half of the financial year, PAT surged 78.5 per cent to RM3.45 million on revenue of RM146.43 million. The Group holds an order book of RM198.97 million, including RM99.03 million in new projects secured year-to-date.
MADCash, ERTH Tackle E-Waste
Kuala Lumpur, April 25: MADCash and ERTH have launched the MADCash x ERTH Mini Hub program to mark Earth Day 2025, aiming to collect 5,000kg of e-waste over the next year. The initiative will empower 10 selected women entrepreneurs across Klang Valley and Johor Bahru, providing them with RM500 micro-loans to run community-based e-waste collection hubs. The pilot project promotes green entrepreneurship and economic empowerment, with plans for future expansion based on environmental and income impact assessments.
