Box Office Winners

Sydney, Feb 3: Oscar-nominee Timothée Chalamet’s A Complete Unknown topped the Australian box office and HOYTS this weekend, earning $1.15M and bringing its total to $4.27M. Nicole Kidman’s Babygirl followed at number two with $950K over the weekend, reaching $1.19M with advance screenings. Mufasa: The Lion King held strong in third place with $860K, while Sonic the Hedgehog 3 came in fourth at $784K. Paddington in Peru rounded out the top five with $697K.
The total Australian box office for the weekend was $10.04M.
Upcoming releases include Presence and September 5, with Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy featured in HOYTS Girls’ Night Out on February 12.

Sydney, Feb 3: FUJIFILM Australia has announced the FP-ZUH6000, a 4K ultra-short-throw projector featuring the industry’s only “folded two-axial rotatable lens.” Set for release in June 2025, the projector enhances color reproduction by 1.5 times over previous models and offers smooth gradation.
Designed for immersive visuals, the FP-ZUH6000 enables multi-directional projection from short distances, making it ideal for commercial and exhibition spaces. Weighing 17.5kg, it features a 6000lm laser light source, a compact design, and an advanced lens shift function for flexible installations.
Fujifilm continues to innovate in projection technology, expanding possibilities for spatial design.

MWCapital, Vueling Launch Challenge

MWCapital and Vueling Launch Challenge to Enhance In-Flight Communication.

Barcelona, Feb 3: Mobile World Capital Barcelona and Vueling have launched We Speak Your Language, a challenge inviting French developers to create an offline real-time translation system for in-flight communication between passengers and crew.
Students from Paris-based EPITECH will participate in a hackathon to develop solutions using Small LLMs, GenAI, IoT, Speech-to-Text, and Text-to-Speech technologies. Five finalist teams will present their proposals aboard the Digital Talent Flight from Paris to Barcelona on March 4, where over 150 international developers will also be on board.
The winning proposal will have the opportunity to collaborate with Vueling to implement the solution. Participants will attend Talent Arena, a major European event for digital talent, featuring workshops, networking opportunities, and talks from industry leaders, including Steve Wozniak and Garry Kasparov.
This initiative is part of MWCapital and Vueling’s collaboration to attract tech talent to Barcelona and strengthen the city’s position as a European innovation hub.

Adobe Acrobat Enhances Contracts

Sydney, Feb 5: Adobe (Nasdaq: ADBE) has introduced new generative AI features in Acrobat AI Assistant to simplify contract understanding. The update helps users quickly grasp complex terms, compare agreements, and verify information.
A recent Adobe Acrobat survey found that nearly 70 per cent of consumers have signed contracts without fully understanding them, while 64 per cent of SMB owners avoided signing due to uncertainty.
The AI-powered tool provides contract overviews, highlights key terms, generates verified summaries, and allows comparison across multiple agreements.
Users can also securely share and sign contracts within the app. Adobe ensures customer data remains private, aligning with its AI Ethics policies.

Revo Fitness Expands Nationwide

Sydney, Feb 7: Revo Fitness is set for its biggest expansion yet, announcing 25 new gym openings across Australia in 2025, bringing its total to 77 locations by the end of the year. With plans to reach 100 gyms by 2027, the expansion will see 14 new sites in Victoria, four in South Australia, and seven in Western Australia.
Building on its 16 new locations and five major refits in 2024, Revo saw a 65 per cent increase in workouts, surpassing 10 million sessions last year. The fitness chain continues to integrate tech-driven wellness tools, including Evolt 360 body scanners and virtual workouts through its top-ranking Revo Fitness app.
All new locations will feature The Studio, a 24/7 self-run reformer Pilates and recovery space, reinforcing Revo’s commitment to affordable, premium fitness across Australia.

World ID Expands Access

Android users can now verify World ID through credentials, unlocking limitless access to the World Network.

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 7: World Network has launched Android support for World ID Credentials in Malaysia, enhancing global accessibility and security. Initially introduced on iOS in select countries, the expansion extends verification via passports to millions more users.
The move benefits both individuals and developers, offering a privacy-preserving, human-verified digital ecosystem. With over 23 million participants, the World Network simplifies app distribution and onboarding while reducing bot-driven traffic.
Recent data from Tools For Humanity (TFH) highlights rapid growth in World’s Mini Apps ecosystem, with millions of daily interactions. The update strengthens security and expands opportunities for developers in Malaysia and beyond.
