Singapore, Oct 28: The Singapore Tennis Open will make its long-awaited return at the newly inaugurated Kallang Tennis Hub from January 27 to February 2, 2025, marking the first international women’s tennis tournament in Singapore since 2019.
The event will feature over 60 matches, with top players from the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) competing for the title.
Qualifying matches will take place on January 25 and 26, followed by seven days of main-draw play.
Tennis fans can enjoy free entry to all qualifying matches, and tickets for the main event are available starting today.
To promote accessibility, single-day concession tickets are priced from $8, while group passes for four start from $44.
Yazed Osman, Group Head of Events and Placemaking at Kallang Alive Sport Management, and Laura Ceccarelli, Chief Operations Officer of APG, are co-directing the tournament.
Osman emphasized the significance of bringing the event back to Singapore, highlighting the focus on accessibility and community engagement.
Ceccarelli expressed excitement about re-engaging with tennis enthusiasts in Singapore through the WTA 250-level event.
She noted the new Kallang Tennis Hub as an ideal venue to host the tournament, with fond memories of the vibrant tennis fan base in Singapore.
The tournament’s official logo, created by Havas Play, reflects the energy of tennis with a fluid tennis ball design forming the letter “S,” symbolizing both Singapore and the agility of the sport.
The tagline “Meet, Play, Love” underscores the event’s spirit of community and participation.
Beyond the main competition, the Singapore Tennis Association will host a regional Under-14 competition, providing young players with a chance to learn from professional athletes and play on the same courts used in the tournament.
Community activities will include school outreach programs, Meet & Greet sessions with WTA and Team Singapore players, and initiatives such as the Team Singapore Learn to Play program and the ActiveSG Tennis Academy.
These activities aim to inspire the next generation of tennis stars and foster a deeper connection with the sport.
