Sultan Nazrin Supports Tiger Conservation

Kuala Lumpur, Aug 27: DYMM Seri Paduka Sultan Perak Darul Ridzuan, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, has inaugurated Malaysia’s largest Harimau Malaya canvas painting as part of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme by AmanahRaya-Kenedix REIT Manager Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Amanah Raya Berhad.
The launch was attended by AmanahRaya Chairman Tan Sri Idrus Bin Harun, Group Managing Director Encik Ahmad Feizal Sulaiman Khan, Managing Director of AmanahRaya-Kenedix YM Tunku Rozita Tunku Abdul Malek, and Members of the Board of Directors of AmanahRaya Group.
The CSR initiative, dubbed the “Harimau Malaya Conservation” campaign, aims to raise public awareness about the plight of the critically endangered Malayan tiger, Panthera Tigris Jacksoni.
Tan Sri Idrus Harun highlighted the alarming decline of the Malayan tiger population, which has dropped from approximately 1,000 in the 1970s to fewer than 150 today, due to threats like illegal hunting.
This effort aligns with the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices that AmanahRaya Group aims to integrate within its operations.
YM Tunku Rozita emphasized that the 23-square-meter painting, composed of 16 canvasses, represents the ongoing efforts of AmanahRaya-Kenedix and RIMAU in conserving this iconic species, crucial to Malaysia’s biodiversity.
An exhibition showcasing artwork related to the Malayan tiger will also be held, with a portion of the proceeds directed towards the Malayan Tiger Conservation Campaign Fund (RIMAU).
The massive artwork was created by renowned Malaysian mural artist Puan Lina Ali, with contributions from AmanahRaya Group management and staff during a CSR event held in May 2024
