Australia Post’s New Electric Fleet

Sydney, Aug 26: Australia Post has expanded its commitment to sustainability and innovation with the launch of 175 new state-of-the-art electric motorbikes.
Manufactured by UBCO Electric Utility Bikes, these vehicles represent the first electric motorbikes in the Australia Post fleet and will be deployed nationwide, setting a new benchmark for sustainable delivery solutions.
The motorbikes, capable of reaching speeds up to 80 km/h, will enable Australia Post to electrify routes that were previously challenging for three-wheel electric delivery vehicles (eDVs) to access.
This addition strengthens Australia Post’s existing electric delivery fleet, which already includes over 5,100 vehicles, enhancing the company’s efforts to reduce emissions, lower operational costs, and improve delivery performance, all while prioritizing the safety of its team members.
Paul Graham, Australia Post CEO and Managing Director, emphasized the significance of this development, highlighting the company’s dedication to sustainability and advanced technology.
He noted that the new fleet enables broader route electrification, further reducing reliance on fossil fuels and advancing sustainability goals.
UBCO Chief Executive Oliver Hutaff expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, pointing out that the UBCO Duty model has been tailored to meet the high demands of delivery operations while minimizing environmental impact and operating costs.
Key features of the new fleet include emission reduction, enhanced efficiency, quieter operation, and advanced safety measures.
Additionally, Australia Post will conduct a track day this week to evaluate the latest in electric vehicle technologies, ensuring that future fleet additions meet the practical needs of their delivery teams.
The new electric motorbikes will begin delivering to communities next month, joining Australia Post’s existing fleet of eDVs, electric pushbikes, and electric trucks.
