Betamek Acquires Sanshin, Expands Reach

Betamek Berhad (“Betamek” or the “Company”), a prominent Original Design Manufacturer (“ODM”) specializing in electronics manufacturing services (“EMS”) for the automotive sector, has successfully finalized the acquisition of Sanshin (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (“Sanshin”), a well-established player in automotive electronics manufacturing.
The acquisition, valued at RM13.4 million, secures Betamek’s 100.0% equity interest in Sanshin, integrating its expertise in car audios and electronics components into Betamek’s portfolio. This strategic move aims to enhance Betamek’s market position by expanding its customer base across Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, and Thailand.
Muhammad Fauzi Bin Abd Ghani, Executive Director of Betamek, emphasised the significance of this acquisition: “By integrating Sanshin’s expertise and established market presence with our own, we are poised to diversify our customer base and expand our product offerings. This move aligns with our strategic vision to lead and innovate within the automotive electronics industry.”
The acquisition includes Sanshin’s relationships with key automotive manufacturers, providing Betamek immediate access to new markets and opportunities. This development is expected to strengthen Betamek’s capabilities in delivering comprehensive solutions to global automotive manufacturers.
As of 28 June 2024, Betamek Berhad’s share price closed at 40.5 sen, reflecting a market capitalization of RM182.3 million.

Kucingko Launches IPO

Kucingko Berhad (“Kucingko” or the “Group”), a leading provider of 2D animation production services, announces the launch of its prospectus for an initial public offering (“IPO”) on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
The IPO aims to raise RM30.0 million through the issuance of 100.0 million new shares at RM0.30 per share. Funds will support capacity expansion, including new production offices in East Malaysia and the USA, alongside working capital and listing expenses.

Ooi Kok Hong, Executive Director, stressed the strategic use of funds to enhance production capabilities and operational efficiency.
