Sydney, June 26: LoveHeart, an AI-powered teacher’s aide, is set to transform early childhood education in Australia by drastically reducing the paperwork burden on educators.
This innovative tool supports teachers in creating meaningful learning experiences for children while saving them an average of 4.2 hours per week on administrative tasks.
According to the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA), 30 per cent of educators leave the sector annually due to workload intensity, with paperwork being a significant contributor.
Individual educators spend over 20 per cent of their time on paperwork, which increases with seniority. Unions suggest that reducing this burden could help retain more educators.
LoveHeart’s AI educator co-pilot uses an educator’s observations to analyse a child’s development, producing detailed reports in seconds.

This allows educators to focus more on teaching and less on paperwork.
The tool has shown promising results, with 83 per cent of users reporting improvements in their educational programs and a 39 per cent increase in engagement.
Founder and CEO Himal Randeniya emphasised the importance of early childhood education in shaping young lives and highlighted the challenges faced by the sector.
“We believe that the future of early childhood education lies in leveraging technology to create hyper-personalised learning experiences for every child. What’s unique about LoveHeart is that we can reduce the administrative burden on educators whilst simultaneously improving their capability and increasing the quality of education,” he said.
Randeniya is a prominent figure in early childhood education with over 30 years of experience in the field.
His dedication to education began early, influenced by his mother, who started a home-based care service when he was three months old and later purchased her first childcare centre when he was three years old.
Coming from a family of teachers who valued education highly, Randeniya followed in their footsteps. He founded an edtech startup aimed at helping primary and secondary school teachers improve their teaching outcomes.
After successfully growing and selling this startup, he acquired his first chain of childcare centres in 2015. In 2022, Randeniya launched LoveHeart, an initiative focused on improving outcomes for children and empowering educators.
Before this, he served as the CEO of Being Early Education, where he applied his extensive experience to enhance early childhood education, creating one of the highest quality groups of services at the time.
LoveHeart’s custom AI, Sentinel, ensures ethical use by monitoring user behavior and preventing the creation of fabricated documentation.
This helps maintain the integrity of the regulatory assessment process.
Paul Mondo, President of the Childcare Alliance and a LoveHeart subscriber, praised the tool for empowering educators and enhancing their pedagogical knowledge.
“Our educators highlighted several key features that stood out to them. In particular, they enjoyed using the online coaching tool, which provided genuinely insightful ideas for planning engaging activities that align with their educational program and their observations of the children,” he said.
LoveHeart’s partnership with the Australian Childcare Alliance is one of the many ways it engages with the early learning sector.
The tool has led to significant improvements, with 65 per cent of users more likely to stay in the industry.
LoveHeart is available for free to educators and teams, offering a practical solution to streamline their work and enhance the quality of early childhood education in Australia.
