Gumtree Partners with Carinspect

Sydney, June 26: Gumtree has announced its new partnership with Melbourne-based Carinspect to enhance the buying experience for second-hand vehicle purchasers.
The collaboration aims to eliminate the uncertainties involved in buying used cars by offering hassle-free pre-purchase inspections conducted by fully qualified mechanics.
This initiative will begin with a trial in Western Australia in June, before expanding to New South Wales and Victoria over the next three months.
The used-car sales industry in Australia is valued at $39.9 billion, with inspection and ancillary services accounting for $800 million of this figure.
With up to 25,000 private car listings per month on Gumtree, the platform’s CEO, Tommy Logtenberg, sees significant transactional revenue growth potential from the Carinspect partnership.
“Adding Carinspect to our private sellers’ used car listings will offer buyers the ability to purchase with even more confidence,” said Logtenberg.
“Used-car buyers looking at vehicles on the Gumtree marketplace will be able to access the benefits of Carinspect’s industry-leading technology. They can book their vehicle pre-purchase inspection quickly and easily and have the car’s inspection report sent to their inbox instantly after the inspection has been completed.”
Co-founder of Carinspect and automotive expert Zasch Weiler expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership.
“We’ve had consistent growth in our customer base since Carinspect’s inception, and this new partnership has opened the door to even more opportunities to help second-hand car buyers know whether they’re buying a peach or a lemon,” Weiler said.
“With the used car market riddled in poorly maintained vehicles, it is more important than ever that second-hand car buyers enlist the expertise of a qualified mechanic who knows cars inside and out, and that is what we’re here for.”
Carinspect boasts the largest pre-purchase inspection network in Australia, engaging over 100 fully vetted and qualified mechanics nationally on both a contractual and permanent basis.
The company has completed inspections for over 10,000 used car buyers, positioning itself to expand its influence with access to Gumtree’s extensive customer base.
The partnership is part of a broader strategy by MKT to enhance customer experiences.
“We look forward to unveiling further progress on other initiatives developed within our whole-of-company strategy in the coming months,” Logtenberg added.
This announcement is likely to be well-received by Gumtree customers who purchase used cars through the popular classifieds website.
For MKT shareholders, it establishes additional revenue opportunities, contributing to greater shareholder value.
Gumtree users can access Carinspect for their used car purchases from June 19th onwards.
