Palo Alto Hosts Ignite

Kuala Lumpur, June 12: Palo Alto Networks held its Ignite on Tour event in Malaysia on Tuesday, at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya.
Themed “Cybersecurity for the AI Era,” the event gathered industry partners, customers, and cybersecurity experts to discuss AI’s impact on cybersecurity in Malaysia.
Chief Information Officer Meerah Rajavel emphasized the dual nature of AI: “Malaysian businesses, given their high digital engagement, are particularly at risk. To safeguard their operations, organisations must counter AI with AI – harnessing the capabilities of AI to enhance security measures, achieve better visibility, and automate their security processes.”
Palo Alto Networks introduced Precision AI™, integrating machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI across their platforms Strata™, Prisma®, and Cortex® for real-time threat defense.
Nazri Bin Ahmad Zamani from CyberSecurity Malaysia highlighted the country’s readiness to adopt AI, cautioning against complacency. Malaysia reported 5,917 cyber incidents in 2023, with a significant rise in scams and frauds.
Sarene Lee, Country Manager for Palo Alto Networks Malaysia, noted, “Malaysia is ranked 23rd globally in Government AI readiness and is the second highest in Southeast Asia. This ranking reflects our strong foundation, supported by substantial government initiatives and investments in AI technology and infrastructure.”
To combat AI-driven threats, organizations are encouraged to invest in AI-powered cybersecurity solutions, share threat intelligence, foster cybersecurity awareness, and stay updated with evolving AI technologies.
