Sydney, April 18: Sony has introduced an enhanced lineup of BRAVIA TVs and BRAVIA Theatre audio systems, designed to transform the home movie-watching experience with superior picture and sound quality that closely replicates the cinema.
This launch comes at a time when streaming services are becoming increasingly popular, and viewers are looking for more immersive ways to enjoy films at home.
The new range of BRAVIA TVs features several models across four series, including the flagship BRAVIA 9 Mini LED, which provides high peak luminance, deep blacks, supreme contrast, and beautifully natural colors.
These TVs are equipped with Sony’s latest XR Processor and XR Backlight Master Drive, which include a unique local dimming algorithm that precisely controls thousands of LEDs to preserve shadow detail and deliver true-to-life contrast.
Kei Tsuru, Head of Home Entertainment at Sony Australia, shared his excitement about the launch: “Building on the decades of operating at the heart of the professional film production equipment development as well as film production and distribution, Sony is in a unique position that allows it to utilize its unparalleled film industry, professional equipment, and consumer electronics experience with its pioneering BRAVIA TVs and BRAVIA Theatre home audio devices.”
The BRAVIA TVs boast features such as high peak luminance and X-Anti Reflection, which enable them to display clearer, brighter images with less glare, making dark scenes in movies more visible and enjoyable.
The TVs are designed to produce sound from the screen itself, with technologies like Acoustic Multi-Audio+ featuring Beam Tweeter and Frame Tweeter, enhancing the audio to match the high-quality visuals perfectly.
Complementing the visual technology, the BRAVIA Theatre range introduces a new dimension in audio experience with items like soundbars and the unique neckband speaker, all of which align seamlessly with the TVs for a unified user experience.
The 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology and Sound Field Optimization in these devices create an expansive sound field that adjusts to the acoustics of the room, providing an enveloping, cinema-like sound.
“We’re excited to bring audiences an unrivalled cinematic experience in the home and beyond with Sony’s new BRAVIA IMAX Enhanced certified TVs and BRAVIA Theatre home audio products,” said Vikram Arumilli, SVP and GM, Streaming and Consumer Technology at IMAX.
Additionally, Mahesh Balakrishnan, Vice President of Consumer Entertainment at Dolby Laboratories, commented, “With Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, creatives have a wider set of tools to work with so audiences can experience their stories exactly as they envisioned. Through the combination of Sony best-in-class engineering and Dolby’s industry-leading innovations, consumers can enjoy truly cinematic Dolby experiences on their favorite Sony BRAVIA and BRAVIA Theatre devices.”
Sony’s commitment to environmental sustainability is evident in their Road to Zero plan, which aims to achieve zero environmental impacts by 2050.
The new BRAVIA models use materials such as SORPLAS™, a recycled plastic, for their back covers and the Eco Remote, reducing the use of virgin plastics.
The products also focus on accessibility, incorporating features like the Talkback screen reader and tactile dots on device ports to aid visually impaired users.
The Voice Zoom 3 feature, which uses AI to enhance human dialogue in soundtracks, makes it easier for everyone to follow movie dialogues clearly.
The new BRAVIA 7 and 3 will be available in Australia from May, while the BRAVIA 9 and 8, alongside the BRAVIA Theatre audio products, will hit the shelves in July.
Sony ensures these products will not only provide the best viewing and listening experience but also contribute positively to the environment and society.
Pricing details for these products will be announced closer to the release date, promising a range of options for consumers looking to upgrade their home entertainment systems.
