Sydney, April 11: British Airways has announced a new Avios-Only long-haul flight to Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados, scheduled for departure on February 15, 2025, from London Heathrow.
This launch follows the rapid sell-out of a similar service to Dubai last year, which saw all seats booked in under nine hours.
The return flight from Bridgetown is set for February 22, 2025, allowing travelers a week-long Caribbean getaway.
This new service marks the 70th anniversary of British Airways’ flights to Barbados, highlighting the airline’s long-standing connection to the island.
The celebration includes competitive pricing, with seats on the Avios-Only flight available from £150 plus 70,000 Avios. Additionally, World Traveller Plus seats can be booked from £330 plus 135,000 Avios, and Club World seats are offered from £450 plus 200,000 Avios.
Avios-Only flights feature 100 per cent Reward Seats, which are available exclusively for redemption via British Airways’ Avios points, in contrast to regular flights that guarantee a minimum of 12 to 14 Reward Seats.
The initiative, which began last year, has expanded to include over 30 destinations such as Corfu, Ibiza, and Nice, reflecting the airline’s commitment to its loyalty program members.
Alongside the Barbados route, British Airways has also introduced an Avios-Only return flight to Geneva scheduled for late February 2025.
This service further caters to the winter travel demand, providing customers with an affordable ski holiday option.
Members who book these flights can utilize additional benefits if they hold British Airways American Express Credit Cards, including using Companion Vouchers which allow a second seat for just taxes and charges.
Holders of Barclaycard Avios cards can also use their Upgrade Vouchers, adding extra value to their travel experience.
These offerings demonstrate British Airways’ innovative approach to customer loyalty, leveraging their extensive route network and robust rewards system to enhance passenger satisfaction and engagement.
To reserve a seat, customers are encouraged to log into their Executive Club accounts on www.ba.com. This expansion of the Avios-Only flights underscores British Airways’ dedication to rewarding its frequent flyers with more opportunities to use their Avios for unique travel experiences around the world.
