AI Boosts Productivity Dramatically
Sydney, March 27: A recent study conducted by Elastic, the company renowned for Elasticsearch®, has revealed promising insights into the transformative impact of conversational search powered by generative AI (GenAI). The findings, outlined in the Elastic Generative AI Report, highlight a widespread acknowledgment among global IT decision-makers of GenAI’s potential to revolutionize organizational practices.
According to the report, nearly all IT decision-makers (99 per cent) worldwide recognize GenAI’s potential for driving change within their organizations. Despite facing challenges such as chaotic data estates, privacy concerns, and skills gaps, a significant majority (88 per cent) express intentions to increase investments in GenAI in the coming years.
Key findings indicate that GenAI holds promise across various industries, with anticipated benefits including improved operational efficiency, enhanced customer experience, and more accurate decision-making. However, concerns surrounding security, regulation, and skills gaps remain prevalent obstacles to widespread adoption.
The study also underscores the struggle faced by organizations in deriving relevant insights from their data, leading to sluggish decision-making processes.
Conversational search experiences are identified as potential solutions, with 97 per cent of respondents believing they could enhance productivity, potentially saving employees up to two days per week.
Furthermore, there is optimism that GenAI will address security challenges by improving threat detection systems, automating responses to security issues, and enhancing observability postures.
Conducted in collaboration with independent research specialist Vanson Bourne, the study surveyed 3,200 IT decision-makers and influencers across the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
