Shah Alam, March 25: Canon Marketing Malaysia has announced the release of its latest innovations in large format printing, presenting three new models each in the imagePROGRAF GP Series (GP-526S/546S/566S) and the imagePROGRAF PRO Series (PRO-526/546/566).
Designed to cater to distinct market needs, the GP Series targets the graphic arts sector, while the PRO Series is tailored for photo print images and fine art prints.
Jeffrey Kung, Head of the Business Imaging Solution (BIS) Division at Canon Marketing Malaysia, expressed excitement about the launch, highlighting the printers’ abilities to enhance print quality, streamline operations, and adapt to customers’ evolving needs.
Kung emphasized Canon’s commitment to being a comprehensive solution provider, offering exceptional performance and environmentally conscious solutions to empower businesses.
Equipped with the new LUCIA PRO II pigment ink, both printer series promise excellent print quality with strong light resistance and improved scratch resistance.
The printers feature see-through covers for roll paper and ink tanks, providing users easy access to check supplies.
Additionally, interior lighting enables users to monitor prints in progress, while a broad panel offers clear visibility of remaining paper and ink levels.
To optimize operations, the printers incorporate a new ink sensing system that monitors ink conditions to ensure high image quality and prevent color shifts.
The inclusion of the “Smart Roll Paper Set” function automates paper source detection, type recognition, and estimates remaining paper, facilitating faster paper feed and simplifying printer maintenance for stable operation.
The imagePROGRAF GP Series is engineered for high-speed printing, targeting in-house advertising offices and print shops.
Featuring LUCIA PRO II 7-color pigment inks, the series delivers vibrant prints with smooth gradation, ideal for fine texture and high-quality posters.
Conversely, the imagePROGRAF PRO Series sets a new standard for printing, boasting LUCIA PRO II 12 pigment inks that offer a wide color gamut, perfect for photo prints and fine art applications on various paper media.
In line with sustainability initiatives, Canon’s new large format inkjet printers are packaged in eco-friendly cardboard instead of Styrofoam.
This move reduces the use of polystyrene foam packing materials by 89.5% in models such as “GP-546S” and “PRO-546”.
The foldable corrugated cardboard packaging enhances compactness during installation and reduces waste for disposal.
Both the imagePROGRAF GP Series and PRO Series printers are now available at authorized Canon partners.
