Petaling Jaya, Jan 23: In a significant move towards advancing renewable energy in Malaysia, Samaiden Group Berhad, a key player in renewable energy solutions, and its consortium partner JS Solar Sdn Bhd have secured a RM100 million contract.
The deal, awarded by NUR Renewables Sdn Bhd, focuses on developing a 50MWac solar power plant at Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP), Kedah.
NUR, specializing in electricity generation and distribution in Malaysia, has exclusive power utility rights in KHTP.
This project marks a major milestone in their ambitious plan to develop a 500MWac solar project, in collaboration with UEM Lestra Berhad, UEM Group’s green energy arm.
The 50MWac solar power plant, poised as the first phase of this expansive project, is designed to supply renewable energy to all KHTP customers, reinforcing NUR’s dedication to green energy provision.
Ir. Chow Pui Hee, Group Managing Director of Samaiden, expressed excitement over this latest venture, emphasizing the project’s importance in demonstrating their continued commitment to the renewable energy sector. “This is more than an engineering project; it’s a stride towards a sustainable future,” she stated.
Johnson Chai, Managing Director of JS Solar, echoed these sentiments. He highlighted the synergy created through their collaboration with Samaiden, expressing optimism for future sustainable energy projects.
