Korean Air has introduced a groundbreaking inflight safety video, utilizing virtual humans for the first time in the airline industry.
This innovative video showcases a virtual flight attendant, Rina, donned in Korean Air’s uniform, demonstrating safety procedures in a digitally created ‘Korean Air Safety Lounge’ with airplane-themed designs. Rina, a virtual creation of Metaverse Entertainment from Netmarble F&C, is not just a digital figure but an honorary flight attendant trained at Korean Air’s Cabin Crew Training Center.
Accompanying Rina in the video is MAVE, a virtual girl group of four members, also a product of Metaverse Entertainment.
They appear as passengers in the video, following the safety instructions given by Rina.
This engaging approach aims to make understanding inflight safety rules more accessible and interesting.
Starting Jan 4, Korean Air will feature this video on all flights and it’s also available on the airline’s official YouTube Channel.
The video addresses essential safety topics like carry-on luggage storage, seatbelt usage, prohibited items, smoking regulations, emergency procedures, and life jacket usage.
Korean Air believes this fusion of aviation and digital technology will revolutionize the perception of inflight safety videos, making them more appealing and relatable to passengers.
