Taipei, Dec 19: Gogoro Inc. (Nasdaq: GGR), a global leader in battery-swapping ecosystems for sustainable urban mobility, and Uber Eats Taiwan unveiled a collaborative initiative known as the Green Delivery Program.
This program is designed to facilitate and make more cost-effective the transition of Uber Eats delivery partners to electric scooters.
Over two years, this strategic partnership, jointly funded by both companies, is valued at nearly US$30 million.
As part of the program, delivery partners will enjoy significant discounts when purchasing new Gogoro Smartscooters and utilizing battery-swapping services.
Moreover, they will be offered incentives to carry out deliveries using Gogoro Smartscooters.
The objective of this initiative is to boost the adoption of electric vehicle (EV) deliveries in Taiwan, to increase the proportion from the current 20 per cent to approximately 40 per cent of all deliveries by the end of 2025.
Horace Luke, the CEO and founder of Gogoro, emphasized the importance of transitioning urban transportation to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.

He noted that last-mile delivery riders cover considerably greater distances than regular consumers, making it vital to facilitate their adoption of smart and sustainable electric transportation to accelerate positive environmental impact.
Chai Lee, General Manager of Uber Eats Taiwan, highlighted the program’s dedication to making it convenient and economical for delivery partners to make the switch to electric scooters.
He cited the successful adoption of Gogoro’s EV scooters and battery-swapping technology by Uber Eats delivery partners, and how this new agreement aims to further enhance these efforts, contributing to cleaner air in cities across Taiwan and aligning with their global goal of achieving emission-free deliveries by 2040.
This initiative represents a deepening commitment from both Gogoro and Uber Eats to create a more environmentally friendly future for Taiwan.
Earlier in the year, both companies introduced discounted pricing that was swiftly embraced by their delivery partners.
