Kuala Lumpur, Sept 22: Alibaba’s intelligent collaboration workplace and application development platform, DingTalk, has introduced an innovative solution for the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Dubbed “DingTalk for Asian Games,” this enhanced edition of DingTalk aims to optimize the operational efficiency of the mega sports event, which is scheduled to take place from Sept 23 to Oct 8.
DingTalk for Asian Games is a cloud-native digital solution managed on the cloud, offering reliability, scalability, and security. It acts as a one-stop collaboration tool connecting all stakeholders involved in the sports event, including organizers, suppliers, volunteers, and venue operators.
Ge Zhang, Deputy Director of Radio, Television, and Information Technology Department of the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee, emphasized the success of DingTalk for Asian Games in facilitating online organization, communication, and business for participants across different levels, departments, and regions. He described it as a testament to Hangzhou’s digital economy, offering valuable insights and experiences for future international large-scale sports events.

DingTalk for Asian Games simplifies event organization with a flat organizational structure, allowing tens of thousands of staff and volunteers to communicate effectively, share information, and schedule meetings. It also leverages Alibaba Cloud Machine Translation services, providing real-time translation in 14 languages to improve communication among international participants.
Designed for smartphone usage, the platform enables instant audio and visual connections between users and the main operation center of the Games. This facilitates rapid decision-making and problem-solving.
One of its standout features is the “digital office” that eliminates the need for physical workplaces, enabling teams to collaborate on documents, manage approvals, and handle administrative tasks efficiently.
Moreover, DingTalk for Asian Games incorporates cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, including a Chatbot that can automatically answer event-related questions and assist in content digestion.
For developers, the platform offers low-code features, allowing users to create custom applications for new scenarios. An example is a low-code appointment application developed for athletes to book training sessions conveniently.
DingTalk for Asian Games is compatible with various devices, including smartphones, tablets, computers, and TV boxes.
