The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has taken proactive steps to tap into the growing demand for incentive travel within the region and to spotlight the enriched offerings of Hong Kong. In the past two months, the HKTB orchestrated a series of carefully curated familiarization trips to bolster business prospects. These efforts witnessed over 160 agents and corporate representatives from the Mainland, South Korea, and India immersing themselves in the Hong Kong experience. The result? A surge in enthusiasm, new insights, and immediate plans to host significant events in the city. Notably, Hong Kong recently welcomed its largest incentive group from the Mainland. Kenneth Wong, General Manager of MICE & Cruise at the HKTB, emphasized the city’s ongoing infrastructure and tourism resource development. Wong noted, “Seeing is believing,” highlighting the importance of firsthand experience in comprehending the city’s offerings. The unveiling of new attractions, coupled with innovative MICE products and substantial funding support, has resonated well with visitors. Wong expressed satisfaction that Hong Kong continues to be a preferred choice for incentive travel.

A Spectrum of Enriching Experiences

Hong Kong’s incentive content is being enriched with upgraded and new attractions. The prominent West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) stands out with the introduction of two top-tier museums – the Hong Kong Palace Museum and M+. These cultural havens inject artistic vibrancy into events. Meanwhile, theme attractions such as Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Ocean Park Hong Kong, and the Peak Tram are pioneering innovative products to offer immersive experiences.

Diverse Perspectives from FAM Trips

Nam Hyo Rim, Section Manager of The MICE from South Korea, praised Hong Kong as a multicultural hub seamlessly blending East and West. The new museums within the WKCD were hailed not just for their world-class art exhibitions but also for their adaptable event spaces that inspire creativity.Kong Yan, General Manager of NEW VIEW (Shenzhen) M.I.C.E SERVICE CO., LTD, conveyed a renewed perception of Hong Kong’s diversity. From exclusive group arrangements at theme parks to captivating multimedia shows, she found the range of new experiences truly unforgettable.

Beyond the city’s iconic attractions, Hong Kong offers a plethora of themed experiences catering to immersive desires. These experiences are designed to provide MICE visitors with unique and lasting memories. The enthusiasm of participating agents illustrated their engagement with the captivating group activities.

Electrifying Parties and Island Ventures

Dipti Narvekar, Senior Manager – MICE of Thomas Cook India, highlighted Hong Kong’s energetic party scene. She described it as perfect for team bonding, offering diverse options from bar-hopping to VR Sandbox adventures. Lantau Island, a vibrant locale, provided unique experiences, with Discovery Bay offering an off-the-beaten-path escape and yachting serving as a relaxing team-building option.

Strengthened Team Bonding Outdoors

Zhang Xin, Deputy General Manager of CYTS M.I.C.E. (Shanghai) Service Co., Ltd., praised Hong Kong’s timeless charm and green areas that cover 75 per cent of the city. The city’s undulating landscape, encompassing rocks, beaches, cliffs, hills, and lakes, promises endless surprises for incentive groups seeking outdoor team-bonding activities.

Mainland’s Largest Incentive Group

In the past six months, Hong Kong’s appeal has attracted nearly 300 meeting and incentive groups. The city’s latest attractions and diverse offerings left a strong impression. Leading liquor brand Luzhou Laojiao, impressed by Hong Kong’s enhancements, swiftly decided to bring 1,250 top-performing distributors to the city in August.
Through cross-boundary infrastructure, their multi-destination itinerary spanning Hong Kong and Macao promises an enriched and seamless journey.
The HKTB’s proactive efforts in curating immersive experiences and highlighting enhanced attractions underscore Hong Kong’s appeal as a dynamic and engaging destination for incentive travel.
