Nepotism refers to the practice of showing favouritism towards family members or close associates in business or other organisations.
Without a doubt, this is seen as normality in Malaysia, and in all honesty, it has more negative connotations than positive ones.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has employed his daughter, Nurul Izzah as senior adviser on economic and finance matters.
As said by Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin, the employment of Nurul Izzah is absurd.
It ruins the good image of this nation.
Nepotism undermines meritocracy, which is the belief that people should be hired and promoted based on their abilities and qualifications rather than their personal connections.
I am sure that there are a lot of individuals who worked hard to get the position that Nurul Izzah is currently holding.
It seems like the rich are becoming richer through this nepotistic ideology that is implemented in our current government.
The resentment and bitterness that will come from this will lead to a toxic work environment and decreased morale. How are our political leaders supposed to lead when such biases exist?
“Malaysia Madani” seems like another catchy program made to feed his own family and this is how the opposition views this.
Corruption and abuse of power are now easily achievable regardless of the impact on the organisation or its employees.
This is specifically because of who the upper ups are, as there will be lesser checks and balance in terms of how things go.
The ideology of Nepotism should not be allowed in PKR.
As a politician who is in Perikatan Nasional, I came from nothing, and they accepted me for my passion and credibility.
We cannot have another family-based corruption disrupting the peace that the citizens are currently living in.
