Dear Readers, an audio version of this article is available below.
Hello, dear readers! Thank you for showing interest in our website DailyStraits.com thus far!
We are excited to be able to cater stories from a wide range of topics and are extremely happy to have attracted readers from all over the world.
Though new, our website has been packing a punch since our launch on Feb 27 and we have only our external partners, columnists and a lot of unsung heroes to thank for our website’s continued development.
Being a newbie website, we recently underwent a rebranding exercise and had redesigned the whole website outlook from top to bottom.
We really hope that you like our new look and our new logo which resembles a planet.
But today, I am not here to talk about DailyStraits.com but instead to tell you that we have come up with our very own marketplace that aims to help start-ups entrepreneurs without a website presence to market their products to the world.
As the African proverb goes: “If You Want to Go Fast, Go Alone. If You Want to Go Far, Go Together.”
With that in mind, we have decided to come up with a marketplace to help marginalised entrepreneurs who have an awesome product to sell but have no idea or place to market it.
I know many of us, resort to the usual suspects such as Google analytics, Facebook ads, Instagram ads and the list goes on.
And who can forget the “all powerful” Instagram influencers?
Yes, to market with them you would need to send your products to them for free in order to get a plug on their story feed.
Being a serial entrepreneur for years now, I know the kind of difficulties new entrepreneurs face when onboarding their products on established marketplaces.
It is either the paperwork is difficult or they just don’t accept new entrepreneurs on their site.
So, in other words, we are looking forward to onboard products from first time entrepreneurs to sell on our marketplace.
At the moment what you will see on the site is the products from the team itself.
Besides being journalists we are also entrepreneurs and have our own range of products that we are selling on the side.
Products which we had created from scratch.
So, there will be some commission taken as we need that money to pay for digital marketing but trust me when I say, it would be a bearable amount of money and nothing earth shattering.
Just a tiny amount of money to pay for digital marketing.
At the moment we are only accepting entrepreneurs who have business presence in Malaysia and Australia.
Everything is okay except for food, medicines and also sex toys.
If you are interested to know more, please get in touch with us at our contact us page or at editor@dailystraits.com with the subject line “Shop” so that we can walk you through the next steps on how you can onboard your products with us.
