Intel Malaysia has launched a new initiative to help university students get a step closer to a pre-pandemic learning experience.
The Systems Cloud for University or SC4U was launched by Intel Malaysia recently in collaboration with Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) and CREST (Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science and Technology Centre) with the main objective being to restore hands-on learning for university students.
Intel said SC4U would be free to use and will be made available for students and lecturers.
Present at the launch of the event was the Minister of Human Resources, Datuk Seri M. Saravanan and Intel Corporation Vice President of Internet of Things Group Eric Chan.
“To be realistic, we won’t be able to completely replace what the physical lab experiences can provide, but we strive to restore 80 per cent of the hands-on learning experience through the SC4U offering”, Chan commented.
He added that Intel’s goal was to help the learning experience of the students return as much as it could to the pre-pandemic levels.
Also present at the event was Jaffri Ibrahim, the CEO of CREST and Thomas Mathew, the Group CEO of TalentCorp and more than 100 participants from the university and academic community.
TalentCorp will be taking the role of bridging the talent, particularly graduates, to utilise the same infrastructure to improve the employability of graduates, with CREST helping to manage the engagement with universities.
Intel, CREST and TalentCorp will collaborate closely to enable this new method of teaching and learning, in line with the ‘new norm’ in education.
