Orbitkey Tames the Cable Chaos

Perth, Sept 28: Anyone who works between home, the office and the road knows the drill: a charger in one pocket, earbuds in another, and a cable that has somehow wrapped itself around your keys. Melbourne brand Orbitkey, the company behind the original Key Organiser and a winner of both Red Dot and iF Design Awards, thinks it has the answer.
Last month, Orbitkey released a five-piece Tech Organiser Range built on its 2-in-1 Tech Pouch, which has sold more than 186,000 units since 2024. The idea is simple. Rather than buying one organiser, finding it’s the wrong size, and shopping around again, you pick from one family where every piece shares the same materials, internal layout and look. The only real decision is how much you carry.

The Range at a Glance

The Tech Organiser Mini (0.5L, AU$39.90) is for light carriers: a cable, a charger, earbuds and a power bank, slim enough to slip into a tote. The Tech Organiser (1.5L, AU$59.90) is the everyday all-rounder and opens flat, so a café table or hotel desk becomes a workstation. The Tech Organiser Plus (2.5L, AU$74.90) takes a bigger load, such as multiple chargers, a mouse, a hard drive and a hub, and stays slim when it isn’t full. The Tech Sling (3L, AU$109.90) is the one you can wear on the commute before setting it down as a desk organiser. And the Cable Organiser Pouch (AU$79.90), the largest in the range, uses a clamshell layout to give every brick, lead and dongle a fixed home, whether in a drawer or a suitcase.

Across all five, elastic loops and mesh pockets keep items in place, and wide openings put everything in view as soon as you unzip. Each piece is made from recycled polyester inside and out, and Orbitkey is a certified B Corporation and Climate Neutral certified.

First Impressions

I received two pieces from the range: the Cable Organiser Pouch in Terracotta and the Tech Organiser Mini in Lilac. In person, the Terracotta is a warm burnt orange with a simple white logo, while the Lilac is a soft violet finished with a gold-tone logo and zip pull, which gives it a slightly dressier look.

Unzip the Cable Organiser Pouch and it opens clamshell-style onto a grey interior, with rows of elastic loops on one side and a zipped mesh pocket on the other, so chargers and cables each get a set place.
The Mini has a light beige lining with slip pockets, and while it’s designed for tech, I found it just as handy as a pencil case: a small spiral notebook and a couple of pens slid in easily with room to spare.

The quality is consistent across both, with the same feel and finish, which matters when the whole pitch is that the range works as a matched set.

The Verdict

On first impressions, these are well-made, practical organisers that bring some colour to the everyday tech kit. The Mini is a versatile little pouch that earns its place beyond cables, and the Cable Organiser Pouch looks ready to tame a drawer full of chargers. If your bag is a tangle of cords, pick the size that suits how you carry and you’re set.
