Kuala Lumpur, July 21: Malaysia Airlines has announced it is adopting the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Turbulence Aware programme, a move the national carrier says will bolster its operational capabilities and support safer, more informed flight operations for passengers and crew.
The programme gives pilots access to real-time turbulence data gathered from participating airlines around the world, allowing flight crews to anticipate Clear Air Turbulence (CAT) and make better-informed decisions mid-flight. As global weather patterns grow more volatile, the airline said such operational intelligence is becoming increasingly critical to maintaining safety standards and passenger comfort.
