Perth, July 17: BritBox Australia is set to premiere Mint, an eight-part crime drama exclusive to the platform, starting today.
The series reimagines the star-crossed-lovers story within the world of two rival crime families. At its centre is Shannon, the daughter of a powerful crime dynasty, whose growing attraction to someone from an opposing family sets off a chain of loyalty, betrayal, and hard choices for both sides.
The cast includes Emma Laird (28 Years Later, The Brutalist, A Haunting in Venice) as Shannon, alongside Benjamin Coyle-Larner, Laura Fraser (Breaking Bad, A Knight’s Tale), Sam Riley (Control, Maleficent), Lindsay Duncan (Birdman, About Time), and Neil Leiper (The Angels’ Share).
With its territory premiere landing exclusively on BritBox, Mint looks set to be one of the platform’s bigger genre bets this year for Australian audiences drawn to crime drama with a romantic edge.
We’ll be back with a full review by the end of this week.
