World Cup Shirts Get New Life

Perth, June 9: AI-powered listing platform Aistetic has partnered with sports merchandise marketplace FanWagn to launch a new World Cup campaign encouraging football fans to sell vintage and collectible shirts sitting unused in their wardrobes.
Timed to coincide with the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, the “Story Behind The Shirt” campaign uses artificial intelligence to identify and generate historical context for football jerseys. The technology can recognise iconic kits and automatically create listing descriptions that highlight the memorable matches, players and moments associated with them.
The integration allows FanWagn users to photograph a shirt, have the AI generate a detailed listing and publish it to the marketplace in less than a minute.
The campaign aims to connect collectors and fans with football memorabilia while giving older shirts a second life during one of the sport’s biggest global events.
“Every shirt has already watched history,” said Duncan McKay, co-founder of Aistetic. “We just write it down.”
Lauren Teague, founder of FanWagn, said football shirts represent more than merchandise. “When soccer jerseys show up in everyday wardrobes, it reinforces our belief that fan apparel is more than merchandise. It’s fashion, identity, and culture,” she said.
The AI-powered listing feature is now available through FanWagn ahead of the World Cup tournament.

JB Hi-Fi Issues Refunds

Perth, June 11: JB Hi-Fi has begun refunding more than $250,000 to approximately 200 customers following concerns raised by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) over allegedly misleading pricing claims on a range of technology products.
The ACCC’s investigation focused on online promotions between March and September 2025 involving 17 products, including laptops, a virtual reality headset and a gaming monitor. The regulator alleged that some products were advertised with “was” prices that did not accurately reflect genuine previous selling prices.
“Businesses must not mislead consumers with incorrect pricing displays, including listing incorrect “was” prices when advertising promotions, whether online or in store.”
According to the ACCC, 206 consumers purchased 11 of the affected products during the promotional periods. JB Hi-Fi has already processed some refunds automatically and contacted eligible customers directly regarding compensation.
The retailer attributed the pricing discrepancies to system and human errors, some of which were identified and addressed before the ACCC investigation commenced. The company has also implemented measures aimed at preventing similar issues in the future.
In light of JB Hi-Fi’s cooperation, customer compensation program and the relatively small number of affected products, the ACCC has resolved the matter administratively without pursuing further enforcement action.
