NannyLane Launches Across Australia

Perth, June 5: NannyLane Australia, a new childcare marketplace app described as the “Uber for nannies”, has launched nationally on the App Store and Google Play.
The platform connects families with verified nannies through an on-demand digital marketplace, allowing parents to book childcare immediately or schedule care up to three months in advance.
Founded by working parents Julie and Patrick Menary, NannyLane was created after the couple experienced the challenge of arranging last-minute childcare while balancing work and family commitments.
“At that moment I remember thinking, why isn’t there an Uber-style app for nannies?” Julie Menary said.
The app is designed to give families an alternative to traditional childcare agencies and daycare waiting lists by offering flexible, in-home care through a secure booking platform.
NannyLane includes on-demand matching, scheduled bookings, in-app messaging, advanced search filters, secure payments, verified nanny profiles, ratings and reviews, live GPS tracking and in-app dispute resolution.
Every nanny on the platform must complete identity verification and Working With Children Check validation before joining. Additional credentials, including First Aid certification, police checks, qualifications and experience, are also displayed on profiles where available.

Patrick Menary said safety, flexibility and affordability were central to the platform’s development.
“From day one, our focus has been on safety, flexibility and affordability,” he said.
“If a feature didn’t genuinely make life easier for families or carers, it simply didn’t belong on the platform.”
Nannies are paid securely through the app using Stripe’s payment infrastructure, with families making payments through the platform and earnings transferred to carers after each booking is completed.
While NannyLane shares similarities with marketplace platforms such as Uber and Airtasker, the company said childcare required a higher level of trust, accountability and safety.
NannyLane is available nationally, with its largest user communities currently in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The company said it was also seeing growing registrations and bookings across regional and coastal areas.
The app is free to download and use, with revenue generated through a small platform fee charged to parents per booking, a service fee applied to nanny earnings and an optional premium subscription.
Premium membership is priced at $30 per month and includes favourite nannies, in-app calling, VIP nanny access, priority matching and no booking fees.
To mark the launch, NannyLane is offering an annual premium membership for $199 until June 30, 2026, down from the usual $299 annual price.
The company said its long-term goal was to reduce the cost barrier to in-home childcare, improve transparency for families and carers, and become Australia’s most trusted childcare marketplace.
