Perth, May 20: Rakuten Kobo and StoryGraph are teaming up to make tracking reading habits easier, with a new integration launching in June 2026 that will automatically sync Kobo reading progress directly to StoryGraph accounts.
The partnership makes Kobo the first eReader platform to offer native progress syncing with StoryGraph, allowing readers to automatically track completed books, reading percentages and current reads across both eBooks and audiobooks.
“For a lot of us, the best part of reading is the community. It’s a part of how we show up in the world as readers every day,” Michael Tamblyn, CEO of Rakuten Kobo, said.
“That’s why I’m so excited about our integration with StoryGraph. We wanted to strip away the friction between finishing a chapter and tracking and sharing your progress.”
StoryGraph has become increasingly popular among readers looking for deeper analytics and personalised reading insights beyond traditional book-tracking platforms.
Users can analyse reading moods, pace, genres and habits, while also participating in reading challenges and online book communities.

Under the new integration, books opened on Kobo devices will automatically sync to a reader’s “Currently Reading” shelf on StoryGraph, while completed books will instantly update as “Read”.
The integration also supports audiobooks and gives users manual override controls through the StoryGraph platform.
Separately, Kobo has also introduced limited-edition collector cases for its eReaders, adding a splash of colour to winter reading.
The new cases come in two floral-inspired designs, Green Canopy and Botanical Bliss, and are compatible with the Kobo Libra Colour, Kobo Clara Colour and Kobo Clara BW.
DailyStraits.com received the Kobo Libra Colour eReader and collector cases for review, with the accessories giving the device a more lively and personalised look compared to standard covers.
The Libra Colour Collector Case is priced at $49.95, while the Clara BW/Colour Collector Case retails for $44.95.
The cases have been available via Kobo.com since May 12.
