Perth, May 14: The WEST Group is launching the WEST App, a new Australian media and community platform designed to help people discover local travel, food and culture experiences.
Founded in Western Sydney, WEST began in 2021 with The WEST Journal and has since expanded into a digital discovery platform connecting creators, businesses, councils and communities.
The app promotes businesses through creator-led content on interactive maps, without ratings, reviews or negative commentary. Instead, businesses are featured through local recommendations and geo-targeted discovery.
More than 480 local content creators have been invited to become WEST Ambassadors, with a combined reach of more than nine million.
The platform also has more than 1,500 businesses and venues already featured, an 11,000-strong consumer waitlist and more than 20,000 businesses in its wider network.

When a content creator, a local or a visitor shares somewhere they’ve discovered – that recommendation reaches the right people in the right place and keeps working long after it was first posted in the WEST App.

The WEST App will launch in NSW on 26 May. The platform has also secured brand partners, including WOTSO, Goliath Coffee, West HQ and Coliseum Theatre.
