Perth, April 18: Bella joins SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast just in time for the school holidays, giving families a new reason to visit the aquarium’s underwater attractions.
The six-year-old rescued Australian fur seal is now settling into her new home after completing quarantine and gradually joining the resident seal colony.
SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast said Bella, who was rescued from St Leonards Beach in Victoria after being separated from her mother, is currently the only Australian fur seal in human care.

Visitors can spot Bella alongside other seals while exploring the aquarium’s 11 interactive animal zones across three levels, including Little Blue Penguins, Tidal Touch Pool, Seahorse Kingdom, Seal Island and the 80m Ocean Tunnel.
Her arrival also highlights the aquarium’s conservation efforts and offers guests a chance to learn more about the challenges facing wild seal populations.
Guests wanting a closer look can pre-book the Seal Encounter experience, while those wanting more from their visit can also add a professional photo, try the immersive VR game or opt for an annual pass with unlimited entry and extra benefits.
The school holiday promotion runs from April 1 to May 3, 2026.
