Chennai Cyclists Explore Sabah

Kota Kinabalu, Jan 26: Cyclists from Chennai, India began their Sabah journey on Monday, exploring the state on two wheels as part of the Ride Sabah North Borneo Cycling FAM Tour.
The 6D5N familiarisation tour is led by Tourism Malaysia–Chennai and involves participants from the Chennai Cycling Association.
The ride commenced in Kota Kinabalu, with cyclists flagged off from the Sabah Tourism Board building by chief executive officer Julinus Jeffery
Jimit. Also present were Director of Tourism Malaysia-Chennai, Hishamuddin Mustafa, and Director of Tourism Malaysia Sabah, Haryanty Abu Bakar.
Under the theme “Sabah Cycling Paradise, Malaysia Truly Asia”, the programme covers Kota Belud, Kota Marudu, Kudat, Kundasang, and Tamparuli, showcasing coastal routes, highlands and cultural towns.
The initiative includes collaboration with Royal Brunei Airlines to support the participation of influential delegates and cycling influencers from India.
Sabah Tourism Board said the tour is part of efforts to strengthen Sabah’s presence in the Indian market, ahead of the Outbound Travel Mart 2026 in Mumbai next week, where the Ride Sabah North Borneo Cycling Tour is scheduled for launch, supporting Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and Visit Sabah 2027.
